Dobromiła

Dobromiła comes from two old Slavic roots. The first, dobro, means good. The second, miła, means dear or pleasing. Read straight across, the name says good and dear, or in Polish dobra i miła.

Names built this way, joined from two whole words, were a Slavic habit long before Christianity reached the region. A parent picked two qualities and set them next to each other. Dobromiła keeps both halves in plain view, so a Polish speaker today can still hear the good and the dear inside it without reaching for a dictionary.

There is no standard short form here, no pet version that edged out the original. The name stands as it is. On a school register the full Dobromiła fills the line where a nickname might otherwise sit, and what the reader gets matches the roots exactly: someone good and dear.
