The lion did most of the work in how people heard this name. A woman called Leonarda carried a creature of courage in what she was called. Saint Leonard of Noblac, honoured in Poland on 6 November, gave the male form a name-day and a patron for prisoners and for women in childbirth. Leonarda borrowed that spot on the calendar in many parishes.
