Umi

The name Umi comes from the Japanese word 海, read "umi," which means the sea. On this Polish site the origin is filed as "other," a way of marking that it does not descend from the Latin, Greek, or Hebrew roots behind most names in the register. Its meaning stays plain across languages: sea in English, morze in Polish.
