Miraslava
Around 120 women in Poland carry it, few enough that most Poles have never met one. It comes from Slavic roots meaning "glory of peace", and it's edging upward: a couple of newborn girls got it last year.

What Miraslava means
Where Miraslava comes from and what it has meant to the people who carry it.
Miraslava grows from two old Slavic roots. Mir means peace, slava means glory, and set together they give "glory of peace," what Polish puts as ta, która sławi pokój. The spelling with that middle a leans east, toward Belarusian, where the vowels settled their own way. That root mir also means "world" across the Slavic languages, one word standing for peace and world at once.
In Poland the same name lives as Mirosława, beside the masculine Mirosław. Both belong to an old family of Slavic compounds, each half a plain word doing plain work. The long form wears down in use. She becomes Mira, or Mirka.
Mirosława keeps her imieniny on 26 July, a fixed square on the Polish calendar. On that day the register holds her full name, while friends go on calling her Mira.
